Job summary

Innova Solutions is seeking a Cloud Native Software Engineer-Intermediate for Jersey City, NJ. You will design, develop, test, and maintain production-grade services running on AWS using Java and/or Python, with a focus on secure, scalable infrastructure and API endpoints.

This contract role emphasizes CI/CD, infrastructure as code with Terraform, and collaboration with product, QA, SRE, and security teams.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience (or equivalent practical experience).
• Hands-on experience with application development, testing, and supporting services in production.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and OO design.
• Working experience with AWS and deploying/operating backend services in cloud environments.
• Experience building and consuming APIs; familiarity with microservices and/or event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Terraform (or similar infrastructure-as-code tooling) and environment/workspace organization.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, tests, and maintains production-grade software solutions using Java and/or Python on AWS.
• Writes secure, high-quality code and participates in code reviews to ensure correctness, performance, and maintainability.
• Troubleshoots issues across the application stack, including root-cause analysis and remediation for production incidents.
• Contributes to system design discussions and implements well-structured services and APIs aligned to architecture standards.
• Uses SDLC toolchains and automation (CI/CD, testing, infrastructure as code) to improve delivery speed and reliability.
• Applies enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering tools appropriately (e.g., coding support, code review, test generation, troubleshooting) and validates outputs for security, correctness, and performance.
