Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Infrastructure & Cloud Systems Engineer in Irving, TX (Hybrid) for a 12+ month engagement. You will design, build, test, and deploy cloud solutions integrating on-prem and cloud systems.

The role requires SME level AWS knowledge, IaC experience (Terraform/ CloudFormation/ ARM), and cross-team collaboration to drive architecture decisions. You will mentor juniors, maintain documentation, and support migrations, backups, and security best practices across AWS and Azure

Qualifications

5+ years in a systems/infrastructure engineering role.
Current AWS Solutions Architect Associate or higher certification.
Strong AWS administration, CloudWatch, Lambda, Terraform and CloudFormation skills.
Experience with Windows/Linus server administration and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
Hybrid cloud/on-prem connectivity and security best practices.

Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and deploy cloud-based infrastructure and hybrid solutions.
Lead and mentor the team; participate in architecture reviews and decisions.
Provision and manage AWS resources (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch).
Support Azure resources and on-prem to cloud connectivity; ensure security and cost controls.
Create runbooks, SOPs, and documentation; participate in on-call rotations.
Coordinate migrations, IaC initiatives (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM) and DR tests.
