Job summary

• Typically 5+ years in cloud infrastructure or engineering roles with significant Azure focus.
• Proficiency with core Azure services: compute, networking, storage, identity, governance, and monitoring.
• Experience with IaC tools (ARM, Bicep, Terraform) and scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI).

Responsibilities

• Implement and support end-to-end Azure solutions including networking, compute, storage, identity, and security components.
• Implement and support IaC using ARM/Bicep, Azure DevOps, and Terraform.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to support Zero Trust initiatives using Entra ID, Defender, and Conditional Access.
• Advise on cost optimization using Azure Cost Management, Reserved Instances, and serverless architectures.
• Implement and support Azure Managed Services (App Services, SQL DB, Azure Functions, Logic Apps).
• Support disaster recovery and BCP with Azure Site Recovery and Backup solutions.
• Partner with network/security teams to implement a Cloud First Network Infrastructure (Virtual WAN, SD-WAN, Azure Firewall).
• Support headless solutions, serverless compute (Azure Functions, Logic Apps), and managed databases (SQL, Cosmos DB).
• Other related duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will play a critical role in the implementation and operational support of Azure cloud infrastructure at Farm Credit Financial Partners (FPI). This position requires deep technical expertise in building and maintaining scalable, secure, and cost-effective Azure environments.

FPI’s Azure-first strategy includes major initiatives across Zero Trust security, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), cloud-native networking, automation, and managed services. The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will support these efforts by implementing and supporting delivering robust, enterprise-ready Azure infrastructure solutions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement and support end-to-end Azure solutions including networking, compute, storage, identity, and security components.
• Implement and support Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using ARM/Bicep, Azure DevOps, and Terraform.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to assist in supporting Zero Trust initiatives using tools like Entra ID, Defender, and Conditional Access.
• Advise on cost optimization opportunities using Azure Cost Management, Reserved Instances, and serverless architectures.
• Implement and support the use of Azure Managed Services, including App Services, SQL DB, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps.

Requirements

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Typically, 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or engineering roles, with significant focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Proficiency with core Azure services: compute networking, storage, identity, governance, and monitoring.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., ARM, Bicep, Terraform) and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI).
• Strong understanding of cloud security and identity management, particularly in Zero Trust environments.
• Hands-on experience with cloud automation, monitoring, and operational support tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) or Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104).
• Experience with container platforms (Docker, AKS) and API management.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud integration technologies and methodologies (e.g., ExpressRoute, Azure Arc).
