Job summary

Xona is seeking a senior IaaS/SRE engineer to own cloud operations across AWS and Kubernetes, ensuring reliability as our Pulsar infrastructure scales. You will drive observability, implement OpenTelemetry dashboards, and embed security and reliability into software workflows.

As part of a small, high-impact platform team, you’ll promote automation, IaC, and zero-downtime deployments while shaping future directions for our growing global service in the Bay Area.

Qualifications

• Strong infrastructure or SRE engineer with experience running systems at scale.
• Production Kubernetes operations, tooling, networking, IAM, and GitOps patterns on hyperscale vendors; on-prem experience is a plus.
• Experience with testing/release workflow design affecting system reliability in a microservices architecture.

Responsibilities

• Own cloud operations: run environments on AWS and Kubernetes, scale services, plan capacity, release often, and optimize costs.
• Develop best-in-class observability: implement dashboards and alerts to stay ahead of SLOs and enforce standards.
• Automate everything: CI/CD, high availability, infrastructure-as-code, zero-downtime deployments, and reproducible builds.
• Design for the future: anticipate 100x growth of Pulsar and ensure flexible infra and release flows.
• Be a Kubernetes technical leader: establish patterns, mentor teams, and drive container orchestration excellence.
