Job summary

Venmo, a PayPal subsidiary, is seeking a Cloud/DevOps Engineer to help maintain and scale our AWS-based infrastructure. You will work with Python, Bash, and Go, implement automation, and support CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with senior engineers to deliver reliable, scalable services.

Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and data observability tools is desired, with a focus on operational excellence and secure, automated deployments in a hybrid cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 1+ years’ experience in software development or a related field.
• Some experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) or container technologies.
• Programming and scripting experience (Python, Bash, Go, or similar).
• Exposure to containers and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to infrastructure features and automation under guidance of senior engineers.
• Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot incidents, and elevate as appropriate.
• Write automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code to improve operational efficiency.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, self-service tooling, and microservices scaffolding.
• Learn and apply best practices in cloud engineering, DevOps, and SRE.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.
