Job summary

AVANGRID SERVICE COMPANY is seeking a Lead Engineer, Cloud and Generative AI, to design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure, supporting Generative AI applications.

You will collaborate with data scientists to deploy AI models, automate provisioning with Terraform, and mentor the team. The role reports to the Senior Manager – IT Infrastructure and is based in Orange, CT (with Boston, MA reference).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience; equivalent combination considered.
• Experience designing and implementing large-scale network solutions.
• 3+ years of AI experience.
• Proficiency with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and manages scalable cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS and Azure.
• Collaborates with data scientists and AI researchers to deploy and optimize AI models.
• Ensures the security, reliability, and performance of cloud-based AI systems.
• Utilizes Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation.
• Provides technical leadership and mentorship to team members.
• Remains current with advancements in AWS, Azure, and Generative AI.
• Documents best practices, processes, and procedures.
