Job summary

Smurfit WestRock in the United States is seeking a Cloud FinOps Engineer to join our Public Cloud Engineering - Cloud Center of Excellence. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Computer Science or relevant work experience or equivalent military experience.
• 4-8 years overall IT experience.
• 3+ years of Enterprise-level cloud platform experience with Azure or AWS.
• Proven experience with cloud providers infrastructure (network/compute), services, and usage models.
• Budgeting and forecasting.
• Proficiency in monitoring cloud spend.
• Proficiency in reporting and tracking cloud spend.
• Certifications: AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification (preferred), FinOps Practitioner Certification (preferred), Professional Certification (a plus) or equivalent Azure Certifications

Responsibilities

• Develop, measure, report and maintain KPIs for tracking real time costs and product level visibility.
• Own FinOps program implementation and deployment of costing templates for delivery of financial requirements.
• Enable product teams and end users to move towards self-service cloud cost reporting.
• Develop resource tagging strategy to create accountability related to shared cloud services expenses.
• Manage relationships between IT Business partners and Cloud Center of Excellence for cost transparency.
• Negotiate cloud contracts and hosting opportunities with Strategic Sourcing and Finance.
• Evaluate and adopt cloud cost optimization tools and best practices.
• Create cloud cost standards, procedures, and training materials.
• Build BI dashboards and provide cost insights for forecasting and unit economics.
