Job summary

GuideWell is seeking a FinOps Engineer to own cloud cost visibility, allocation, and optimization as GuideWell migrates to the cloud. You will design tagging, build budgets, showback, and forecasting, and drive rightsizing and idle-resource cleanup across AWS and Azure in multi-account environments.

This hands-on role blends cloud infrastructure and financial analysis, partnering with engineering and finance to embed cost checks into provisioning and CI/CD processes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of cloud financial management and cloud engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze cloud spend and detect anomalies to track run rate.
• Execute optimization like rightsizing, storage tiering, and idle cleanup.
• Design and enforce tagging and cost allocation models.
• Build showback reporting, budgets, and forecasting.
• Manage commitment coverage and provide cost input to architecture reviews.
• Set up budgets, forecasting, and anomaly detection; route findings to owners.
• Apply cloud cost knowledge across AWS and Azure billing and RI/Savings Plans.
• Use SQL for cost and usage analysis across multi-cloud environments.
