Job summary

KBR is seeking a Cloud Enterprise Architect to provide SETA support and lead enterprise cloud architecture across mission systems in a highly classified environment. The role ensures architectural consistency, interoperability, and compliance with RMF and secure design practices.

The successful candidate will guide cloud adoption, advise government stakeholders on strategy, and drive MLOps and data-centric architectures while coordinating across programs with Agile teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure architectural consistency, interoperability, and integration across enterprise cloud solutions.
• Develop and enforce architectural governance frameworks and ADRs.
• Lead security architecture reviews and RMF/compliance assessments across cloud platforms.
• Support Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes and RMF alignment.
• Provide technical advisory support to government stakeholders on architecture strategy and cloud adoption.
• Contribute expertise in systems engineering lifecycle processes, MLOps, and Data Mesh architectures.
• Define enterprise security guardrails, control frameworks, and standards for development teams.
• Review and validate cloud architecture designs to align with enterprise objectives.

Job Summary

The Cloud Enterprise Architect provides Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support to our customer, delivering enterprise-level cloud architecture guidance across mission systems. This role ensures architectural consistency, interoperability, and compliance across a portfolio of cloud solutions supporting national security objectives. The architect advises government stakeholders on technical strategy, cloud adoption, and emerging technologies, while aligning solutions to mission needs and lifecycle frameworks. The position leads architecture governance, security compliance efforts, and integration of modern paradigms such as MLOps and data-centric architectures. Operating in a highly classified environment, this role directly supports mission effectiveness, scalability, and long-term technology planning.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Ensure architectural consistency, interoperability, and integration across enterprise cloud solutions and mission systems
• Develop, maintain, and enforce architectural governance frameworks and architectural decision records (ADRs)
• Lead security architecture reviews and compliance assessments across cloud platforms and enterprise systems
• Support Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes and ensure alignment with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and continuous monitoring requirements
• Provide technical advisory support to government stakeholders on architecture strategy, cloud adoption, and vendor selection
• Contribute expertise in systems engineering lifecycle processes, MLOps pipeline design, and Data Mesh architectures
• Define enterprise security guardrails, control frameworks, and technical standards for development teams
• Review and validate system and cloud architecture designs to ensure alignment with enterprise objectives
• Manage cloud cost optimization strategies, track program schedules and milestones, and support financial governance of cloud resources
• Coordinate across multiple programs and solution teams, integrating Agile/Scrum methodologies and managing interdependencies

Required Qualifications

• Intermediate-level experience:
• Master’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise; OR
• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise; OR
• No degree with 10+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise
• Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with eligibility for polygraph
• Experience supporting cloud environments or enterprise IT systems within DoD or Intelligence Community settings
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and enterprise system architecture principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting IC space/counterspace mission systems
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator/Architect, Security+, or similar)
• Experience with hybrid cloud, cross-domain solutions, or secure classified cloud environment

Basic Compensation

$180,200 to $220,000

Additional Compensation

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance
