Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company seeks a Software Engineering Manager to lead a diverse cloud software team in a hybrid work model, averaging two days per week from an HPE office in North Carolina.

You will drive architectural direction, collaborate with product and AI initiatives, manage headcount and delivery across multiple cloud projects, and mentor engineers to grow while aligning with strategic goals and ensuring high quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field.
• Typically 7–10 years’ experience, including 0–2 years of people management.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic leadership for a diverse team of individual contributors responsible for designing, developing, and delivering complex system software and tools.
• Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and budgets across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with goals, roadmaps, and quality standards.
• Collaborates with program managers, technical leaders, and executive teams to communicate progress, resolve issues, and influence decisions.
• Builds partnerships with outsourced vendors, setting expectations for deliverables, quality, and timelines.
• Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement, cost efficiencies, and risk mitigation.
• Oversees talent management, including hiring, coaching, and career development.
