Select Search Associates LLC is seeking a SETA Cloud Engineer to support a government research funding organization. The role involves cloud engineering, administration, and compliance to ensure Authority to Develop/Operate (ATD/ATO) readiness, including documentation and reporting for auditors.

The candidate should have a strong AWS background, Security+ or equivalent certification, and experience in managing enterprise cloud environments with monitoring and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in AWS cloud engineering with enterprise cloud environments.
• Experience with ATD/ATO and certification processes.
• CURRENT Security+ certification (or DoD 8570 IAT Level II).
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and dashboards for performance and compliance.

Responsabilités

• Assist with enterprise cloud requirements reviews and recommendations.
• Support Project Execution Plan development for Government-approved requirements.
• Administer enterprise cloud environment (accounts, usage, access, etc.).
• Maintain and update cloud infrastructure.
• Coordinate with program managers to transition artifacts to the enterprise cloud.
• Research cloud-focused solutions and define government-acceptable requirements.
• Assist with compliance assessments, remediation strategies, and ATD/ATO maintenance.

We are seeking a Scientific, Engineering, and Technical Assistance (SETA) Cloud Engineer to join our team in support of a government research funding organization dedicated to investing in high-risk, high-payoff research programs to tackle some of the most difficult challenges of national security. The successful candidate will support the government leadership with cloud engineering and administration including overall system operation, optimization and management, while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a Requirements Review Report of the enterprise cloud environment to factor in stakeholder needs, new/evolving requirements and recommendations to address requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of a Project Execution Plan for Government-approved requirements.
• Support the overall administration of the enterprise cloud environment to include account management, usage management, etc.
• Maintaining and updating the cloud infrastructure environment.
• Coordinate with research program managers to transition completed research program artifacts (data, algorithms, etc.) to the enterprise cloud environment to support transition efforts, storage, data sharing, and technical demonstrations.
• Research cloud-focused solutions for the organization’s user needs and propose technical requirements for Government consideration.
• Assist with compliance assessments, resolving issues, verifying certification and program compliance, and support remediation strategies in support of maintaining Authority to Develop/Operate (ATD/ATO).
• Document standard operating procedures
• Assist with dashboards and reports measuring performance, compliance, and risks of IT investments.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a technical field
• FIVE (5) or more years of experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud engineering. Experience should include but not be limited to:
  • Constructing and administering unclassified and classified commercial cloud environments (user access, resource provisioning, cost/usage monitoring, and environment maintenance)
  • Defining of cloud requirements; developing architecture diagrams to support an approved Authority to Develop (ATD) determination
  • Rolling out, delivering, and setting up the underlying cloud environment
  • Developing the final system design to support an approved Authority to Operate (ATO) determination
• Experience transitioning applications, data, and research artifacts (e.g., datasets, algorithms, models) into enterprise cloud environments.
• CURRENT Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and dashboards for performance and compliance reporting (e.g., CloudWatch, or third-party tools).
• Ability to produce standard operating procedures, technical reports, and system documentation for stakeholders and auditors.

Desired:

• Masters' degree or PhD in degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• FOUR (4) or more years of experience managing a multi-disciplinary research and development (R&D) or Test and Evaluation (T&E) team.
• ONE (1) or more year of experience as a Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager.
