Job summary

General Dynamics IT is seeking a Cloud Engineer to develop, design, and deploy modular cloud-based systems at customer sites in Herndon, VA. The role requires 6+ years of experience, TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance, and strong skills in Java/Python/C++/Ruby, AWS, Docker, and Ansible.

You will work within an Agile Scrum team to deliver secure cloud solutions and interact with clients to tailor cloud services.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering or related field.
• Experience implementing and operating cloud-native applications and services.
• Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, Jenkins).
• Strong programming skills in at least one of Java, Python, C++, Ruby.

You will have the ability to develop, design, and deploy modular cloud-based systems as well as identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Education: BA/BS degree
• Required Experience: 6+ years
• Required Technical Skills:
  • Experience in developing software using languages such as Java, Python, C++ or Ruby.
  • Excellent programming skills to ensure the proper interpretation and implementation of code.
  • Experience with DevOps/Platforms: Amazon Web Services (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation, etc.), Docker, Ansible.
  • Documented experience with open-source technology, software development and system engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing DevOps tools, such as GitHub and Jenkins, to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements and cost efficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with customer best practices and guidance.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Agile Scrum based development team.
  • Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on customer needs
  • Strong understanding of web services, API, REST.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Agile Scrum based development team
• Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI with Polygraph

The likely salary range for this position is $122,275 - $165,430. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
