General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Engineer in Herndon, VA to deliver modular cloud-based solutions using AWS and DevOps practices. You will design, deploy, and optimize cloud environments, script with Java/Python, and work with Agile teams to meet client needs.

The role requires TS/SCI with polygraph clearance, U.S. citizenship, a bachelor’s degree in a technical field, and 3+ years of related experience. Expect full-time hours and onsite work with robust U.S.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Ability to design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems
• Experience in scripting using software languages such as Java and Python
• Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues
• Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements and cost efficiencies
• Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with customer best practices and guidance
• Demonstrated experience working with Agile Scrum based development team
• Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on customer needs
• Experience with DevOps/Platforms: Amazon Web Services (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation, etc.), Docker, Ansible
• Demonstrated experience utilizing DevOps tools, such as GitHub and Jenkins, to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery
• Strong understanding of web services, API, REST

DESIRED SKILLS

• Familiar with Assessment & Authorization process and associated artifact collection process
• Background utilizing Jira for documenting and tracking software development tasks
• Documented experience with open-source technology, software development, system engineering and cybersecurity
• Exposure to Terraform or IaC tools

Salary

The likely salary range for this position is $110,500 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
