Job summary

Parsons seeks an experienced Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments. You will build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, implement monitoring, and ensure security best practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve deployment readiness.

Qualified candidates have 10+ years in cloud/DevOps, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and a TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or related fields.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• TS/SCI w/ Polygraph clearance required.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong infrastructure as code experience (Terraform preferred).
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in Linux administration, networking, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Cloud Engineer to join our team!

What You'll Be Doing:

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments.
• Manage and optimize cloud services, including compute, networking, storage, databases, identity, and monitoring.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, or CloudFormation.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines to support safe, repeatable, and efficient software delivery.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident-response practices.
• Improve system reliability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Establish and maintain cloud security best practices, including access controls, encryption, secrets management, and network security.
• Partner with engineering teams to improve application deployment and operational readiness.
• Participate in on-call rotations and production incident response, as applicable.
• Document infrastructure, operating procedures, architecture decisions, and troubleshooting guides.
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions that support the contracts’s technical and business goals.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, site reliability engineering, systems engineering, or a related field.
• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree is acceptable)
• TS/SCI w/ Poly is required
• Professional experience with at least one major cloud provider, such as: Amazon Web ServicesMicrosoft AzureGoogle Cloud Platform
• Strong experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform.
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with Linux administration, networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
• Understanding of cloud security, IAM, secrets management, and secure infrastructure design.
• Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, Go, or JavaScript.
• Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing highly available and fault-tolerant systems.
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, ECS or EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and Route 53.
• Experience with Kubernetes administration and deployment workflows.
• Familiarity with GitOps tools and practices.
• Experience implementing cloud cost-management and optimization strategies.
• Experience with compliance frameworks or regulated environments.
• Relevant certifications, such as: AWS Certified Solutions ArchitectAWS Certified DevOps EngineerCertified Kubernetes AdministratorAzure or Google Cloud professional certifications
• Experience working in a rapidly changing environment.

Security Clearance Requirement:

Salary Range:

$148,300.00 - $266,900.00
