Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Job Summary:

This role serves as a subject matter expert for cloud infrastructure as code and cloud application design. Responsibilities include building and maintaining cloud systems, managing Terraform code pipelines, and providing technical support. Candidates should have a solid understanding of cloud platforms such as OCI, Azure, and AWS.

Project Management (30%):
  1. Provide engineering consulting and recommendations for new cloud systems, ensuring interoperability and adherence to technology standards and policies.
  2. Lead cloud group projects and internal IT and business initiatives.
  3. Develop and manage technical solutions on cloud platforms.
  4. Define and monitor project priorities, providing technical and administrative supervision, and keep management informed of project status.
  5. Allocate cloud resources for business applications, perform capacity planning, workload modeling, and purchasing recommendations for new cloud solutions.
  6. Document all projects and ensure cross-training within the team.
Technical Code, Design, and Build (70%):
  1. Provision, configure, and maintain cloud services such as OCI, Azure, and AWS.
  2. Serve as an expert in Terraform code, modules, and pipelines, understanding resources needed for end-to-end infrastructure as code projects.
  3. Automate and orchestrate system provisioning and maintenance using modern cloud tools.
  4. Design scalable, distributed, high-performance cloud-based solutions for new initiatives.
  5. Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and security teams to follow best practices.
  6. Install, configure, and support applications and systems in cloud environments.
  7. Educate teams on cloud initiatives and Terraform coding, providing training as needed.
  8. Maintain a well-managed operating environment for production and development.
  9. Troubleshoot and resolve issues, documenting actions and resolutions.
  10. Support systems to meet Service Level Agreements.
  11. Assist with business continuity planning and disaster recovery testing.
General Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate across disciplines and departments.
  2. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  3. Uphold the company's core values and competencies.
  4. This role is considered High Risk due to exposure to PHI and sensitive data.
  5. Perform additional duties as required.
