Job summary

ASM Research seeks a Cloud Engineer - Journeyman to design, engineer, and integrate secure, scalable multi-cloud and hybrid cloud infrastructures in government environments. You will implement Infrastructure as Code, cloud automation, and governance to standardize provisioning and guardrails.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT or related field.
• 4–7 years of hands-on cloud engineering, automation, and security experience.
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates) and automated deployments.
• Experience configuring cloud networking, IAM, and security controls in at least one major provider.
• Experience monitoring/logging and incident response in production.
• Active Secret clearance and DoD 8140 compliance.
• US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement multi-cloud/hybrid architectures with security and reliability.
• Build and maintain IaC solutions to standardize provisioning.
• Engineer cloud networking, VPN/ExpressRoute, and connectivity with on-prem.
• Configure security controls: IAM, security groups, keys, monitoring.
• Implement monitoring/logging for observability and incident response.
• Optimize resource usage with rightsizing and cost controls.
• Design disaster recovery and business continuity with playbooks.
• Support DevOps by integrating CI/CD and container platforms.
