Job summary

PetSmart is seeking a Cloud Engineer with 2–3 years of experience to design, deploy, and support cloud services from our Phoenix Home Office. You will work with cloud architects and senior engineers to build scalable infrastructure and automate deployments.

This hybrid role requires four days in the office with occasional remote flex days; travel to PetSmart locations may be needed. Strong scripting and IaC skills, plus knowledge of GCP or Azure, are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of professional cloud experience (Google Cloud, Azure).
• Automation and scripting experience (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
• IaC and CI/CD experience (Terraform, Jenkins/CloudBees, Github Actions).
• Knowledge of Docker and basic Kubernetes (GKE).
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (VPC, DNS, load balancing).
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and maintain GCP infrastructure and managed services using IaC.
• Operate and troubleshoot containerized workloads on GKE.
• Monitor health and security using Cloud Monitoring/Logging and metrics.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to post-incident reviews.
• Support networking, IAM, and security configurations per best practices.
• Provide operational support for large-scale distributed apps and on-call rotation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable cloud solutions.
• Contribute to FinOps, including cloud cost optimization and governance.
• Learn and apply GCP best practices for security and cost management.
