Job summary

Rapid Cycle Solutions LLC in Chantilly, VA seeks a Cloud Engineer Expert/Advisor to provide multi-cloud management advisory services, supporting national security objectives. You will guide mission users on cloud-based IT systems and help develop or migrate applications to the cloud, plus oversee deployment, troubleshooting and maintenance.

  • Advise CSPs and IC Elements on new/existing offerings in C2E
  • Develop and maintain cloud cost management strategy and budgeting support
  • Mentor development teams to build cloud competencies
  • Advise on application performance, uptime, and scale with high code quality
  • Convert customer requirements into cloud service specifications
  • Perform feasibility analyses, cost estimation, and interface definitions

Rapid Cycle Solutions is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer Expert/Advisorto provide multi-cloud management advisory services supporting national security objectives. The Cloud Engineer is responsible for advising mission users on utilizing cloud-based IT systems. Provides support for development in or transition to the cloud, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cloud environments. Manages system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud computing and technology systems and experience designing and transferring applications to the cloud. They will provide unbiased, independent advisory services on cloud services' use, performance, and delivery.

This position requires the candidate to meet specific Security Clearance obligations to work onsite in Chantilly, VA.
What you will do:

  • Work in tandem with the CIMM engineering team to advise on the most optimal cloud-based solutions to meet mission-specific requirements.
  • Provide cloud strategy services that cover all security fabrics and are available to the Government to assist with relocating an organization's business applications, data, and workloads to ensure maximum effectiveness of the multi-cloud environment.
  • Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Review mission system requirements and facilitate technical recommendations.
  • Provide advisory services to the Cloud Service Providers and IC Element to discover, adopt, and understand new and existing CSP service offerings operating in the C2E environment.
  • Develop and maintain a cloud cost management strategy, including but not limited to cost estimation, forecasting, optimization, and advisory services to support new user budget planning and ongoing user cost management in a multi-cloud environment.
  • Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to development teams to build cloud competencies.
  • Advise the Government on application performance, uptime, and scale best practices, maintaining high code quality standards and thoughtful design.
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into cloud solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, cost estimation, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into cloud service specifications.
  • Analyze and study complex system requirements.

Required Qualifications/Education:

  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
  • U.S. Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in computer science, information technology, system administration or a related discipline and 8 years' experience. Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Thorough knowledge and/or certifications in multiple cloud platforms, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud, and IBM Cloud.
  • Expertise in IT architecture, software development, and operations
  • Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Customer Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Project planning and management skills, including the scope of work, time estimation, and resource assignment.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; creating original concepts/theories for various projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems professionally, lead working groups, negotiate, and create consensus.
  • Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Technology Design - Generating or adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs.
  • Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
