Job summary

The Data Scientist will apply technical resources to accelerate the delivery of open-source data, information, and insights, with AWS-based resources and collaboration with mission partners.

This position requires Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

RCS is seeking a Data Scientist to apply technicalresources to accelerate the timely, reliable, and secure delivery ofopen-source data, information, and insights. The developer will supportdeveloping tailored solutions to tackle unique global collectionproblems. The work may be performed independently or within a teamenvironment depending on the specific problem statement. Work willinclude developing Amazon Web Services (AWS)-based resources and skillswill span many compute, storage, and networking services.

This position requires the candidate to meet specific Security Clearance obligations to work onsite in Chantilly or Reston, VA.

What you will do:

• Work closely with the technical lead to architect, deploy, andmaintain multiple, fast-turnaround capabilities used to perform varioushighly visible and high-priority collection efforts.
• Coordinatewith multiple entities, including mission partners, to ensurecapabilities and deliverables meet defined requirements and tradecraftneeds.
• Create and maintain collection capabilities anddeliverables within the Amazon Web Services environment utilizingsponsored approved AWS services.
• Validate collected data to ensure it meets data format requirements.
• Maintain all source code in the GitHub repository.
• Document all source code, including how to execute the code.
• Performoperations and maintenance on the collection capabilities anddeliverables to adapt to changes in collection target, technologies,data formats, and naming conventions.

Required Qualifications/Education:

• Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph
• U.S. Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS)
• Experience with Python.
• Geo-spatial software and programming packages and data formats.
• Creatingand managing AWS resources, including provisioning EC2 instances,writing and deploying Lambda functions, creating and writing to S3, andmanaging authorization appropriately across resources with IAM policies.
• Experience using GitHub.

Nice to Have Qualifications:

• Deploying AWS applications with AWS's Cloud Development Kit (CDK), Ansible and Terraform are NOT a substitute for CDK.
• Building and deploying containerized applications.
• Building, programmatically working with and maintaining search engines such as ElasticSeach, Lucene, or AWS's OpenSearch.
• Creating, programmatically working with and maintaining SQL and NO-SQL databases.
• Experience with other non-AWS cloud services such as, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure.
• Certification(s)
  • AWS DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect, or SysOps Administrator.
