Job summary

estaffing Inc is seeking a Cloud Engineer for a 1-year+ contract-to-hire engagement in Washington, DC. The role focuses on AWS cloud engineering, governance, FinOps, and automation across IaaS/PaaS environments.

The candidate will implement IaC, CI/CD pipelines, security controls, and scalable deployment practices while collaborating with cloud architects to meet enterprise standards and modernization goals.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science/Information Management Systems, or equivalent level technical experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in AWS Commercial and AWS GovCloud Cloud Service Platforms.
• Demonstrated knowledge in IT engineering, infrastructure, security, data management, networking and cloud technologies.
• Demonstrated skill in supporting complex and matrix managed projects.
• Experience developing documentation, processes, and guidance documents.
• Experience performing on enterprise-level information technology projects.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with elected officials, senior staff, information systems professionals, and non-technical users.
• Security: Ability to obtain Public Trust required.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and operational support related to IaaS/PaaS services in cloud environments.
• Perform provisioning and operationalizing of cloud technology and automation solutions at scale.
• Manage systems, IAM, spend management, workflows, and integrations for cloud environments.
• Work with cloud architects to ensure deployments align to enterprise designs and standards.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, orchestration, and automated deployment practices.
• Support FinOps with financial alerting and controls in cloud projects.
• Manage full stack observability, monitoring, and alerting across cloud environments and apps.
• Provide guidance on cloud technology standards and emerging trends.
