Position Summary:
The Cloud Engineer – Architect will assist in building HBS Cloud Engineering Services department with a focus on architecting customer solutions utilizing the Multi Cloud platform.
This role is critical to our success in building a Cloud Center of Excellence, enabling customers to migrate to AWS.
Roles and Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:
- Plan and lead migrations from on-premises data centers to AWS.
- Build and operate a Cloud Center of Excellence.
- Troubleshoot enterprise-level environments to resolve technical issues.
- Implement cost optimization strategies on AWS.
- Discuss, whiteboard, and deliver hybrid cloud solutions.
- Participate in departmental, strategic, and budgetary planning.
- Continue professional development through meetings, seminars, and conferences.
- Track and report department performance metrics.
- Manage transaction profitability while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Support strategic sales opportunities and assist in closing deals.
- Lead AWS cloud architecture and engineering efforts, including designing scalable, secure, and cost-effective environments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess requirements and translate them into cloud solutions.
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows.
- Provide guidance on cloud governance, security, cost optimization, and resource management.
- Support cloud migrations with minimal disruption and high availability.
- Troubleshoot issues across cloud environments, ensuring SLAs are met.
- Engage in incident response and root cause analysis in multi-cloud environments.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
- Collaborate on architecture reviews, design discussions, and strategic planning.
- Support cloud services in GCP and Azure, including networking, identity management, and hybrid scenarios.
- Work with teams and clients in mixed-cloud environments, ensuring consistency and best practices.
- Evaluate and implement third-party tools across multiple cloud platforms.
- Minimum of 1,450 hours billed per fiscal year, balanced with professional development and training.
Requirements:
Competencies:

Required Experience:
- 5+ years in cloud architecture, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
- Proficiency with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK.
- Experience with AWS IAM, KMS, Security Hub, GuardDuty.
- Deep understanding of cloud networking, security, IAM, enterprise architecture.
- Ability to perform architecture reviews using AWS’s Well-Architected Framework.
- Troubleshooting experience in AWS and hybrid cloud environments.
Preferred Experience:
- On-premises architecture, Azure, GCP experience.
- Hybrid cloud troubleshooting, security compliance.
Required Skills, Education, Certifications:
- AWS Certified Architect.
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
- Networking Certification – CCNA / CCNP or equivalent.
Preferred Skills, Education, Certifications:
- Firewall Certification - PA.
