Job summary

Diné Development Corporation (DDC) is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to support the Defense Enclave Services (DES) O&M program. You will design, implement, and sustain enterprise cloud solutions across AWS/Azure, automate infrastructure, and lead Tier 3 issue resolution in a DoD environment.

Responsibilities include building secure cloud foundations, migrating workloads, enforcing security controls, and guiding junior engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience.
  • Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise cloud solutions in AWS and/or Azure environments.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or CloudFormation.
  • Experience implementing automation solutions using Ansible, PowerShell, Azure Functions, or similar technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud-based infrastructure solutions across AWS and Azure environments.
  • Deploy and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using automation and orchestration tools.
  • Support cloud modernization, including migration of on-premises services to cloud.
  • Troubleshoot Tier 3 cloud infrastructure, networking, IAM, and applications.
  • Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, operations, and architecture teams to align with standards.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
  • Enforce cloud security and compliance with DoD/Federal frameworks.
  • Develop technical documentation and support continuous service improvement.

Job description

NOVA-Dine is seeking a highly motivated Cloud Engineer to support the Defense Enclave Services (DES) Operations & Maintenance (O&M) program. This role is part of a large-scale digital modernization effort supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Department of Defense (DoD) Fourth Estate customers. The selected candidate will design, implement, automate, and sustain enterprise cloud solutions across AWS and Azure environments in support of mission-critical infrastructure and applications.The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, security, and operational support within complex enterprise environments. This is a Tier 3 engineering role requiring advanced troubleshooting, architectural input, and technical leadership across cloud operations initiatives.*Tentative end date for the Position: November 30, 2026 with possible extension to May 2027*Responsibilities:Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud-based infrastructure solutions across AWS and Azure environmentsDeploy and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using automation and orchestration toolsSupport enterprise cloud modernization initiatives, including migration of on-premises services and workloads to cloud environmentsTroubleshoot and resolve complex Tier 3 cloud infrastructure, networking, identity, and application issuesCollaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, operations, and architecture teams to ensure cloud solutions align with enterprise standards and mission requirementsContribute to cloud architecture design efforts supporting scalable, resilient, and highly available environmentsImplement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflowsEnforce cloud security best practices and compliance requirements, including alignment with DoD and Federal cybersecurity frameworksMonitor cloud environments for performance, availability, optimization, and cost efficiency improvementsDevelop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and engineering standardsSupport continuous service improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and user experience across the DES environmentProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and operations personnel as neededOther duties as assigned.Qualifications:Secret clearance required for role.IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or appropriate DoDM 8570 Baseline Certification) is requiredBachelor’s degree and 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience; additional experience may be considered in lieu of degreeHands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise cloud solutions in AWS and/or Azure environmentsExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or CloudFormationExperience implementing automation solutions using tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, Azure Functions, or similar technologiesExperience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps methodologiesUnderstanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM/ICAM) technologies including Azure AD, Okta, CyberArk, or similar platformsStrong understanding of networking, virtualization, storage, and cloud security principlesFamiliarity with Federal Government cybersecurity and compliance frameworks including NIST, FedRAMP, and FISMAExperience supporting production enterprise environments in an operations and maintenance capacityStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in distributed technical teamsDesired Qualifications:Industry cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalentExperience supporting DISA or DoD enterprise environmentsFamiliarity with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira and ConfluenceExperience supporting large-scale enterprise migrations or hybrid cloud environmentsKnowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes or OpenShiftSalary Range: $60,000 to $88,000The compensation range listed for this position represents the good faith salary range Diné Development Corporation (DDC) and its subsidiaries reasonably expect to pay for the role, in accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws.
