Job summary

Diné Development Corporation (DDC) seeks a Cybersecurity Cloud Engineer to lead AWS cloud design, provisioning, and security for pre-production and production environments. You will ensure compliance with DoD requirements, support RMF controls, and enable secure, scalable cloud architectures across AWS GovCloud.

Key focus areas include Zero Trust/ICAM, CI/CD, and integration with DoD IT environments, with monthly on-site travel to Columbus, OH.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in cloud engineering and cybersecurity.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience as described.
• Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and set up the AWS environments and accounts, working with the cloud lead.
• Apply AWS GovCloud expertise to design, provisioning, and hardening of cloud accounts and landing zones.
• Scale prototype into full pre-production environment for development, test and integration.
• Engineer environment to support relational DB, Java, cloud native capability, Zero Trust/ICAM, API integration, UI/UX, and CI/CD.
• Implement pre-production architecture to support parallel production.
• Ensure secure cloud architecture meeting Department requirements; review security policy and improve posture.
• Support protection, detection, monitoring, and response for cloud-hosted systems and data.
• Guide assessment staff in Cybersecurity Vulnerability Assessments for cloud hosting.
• Support RMF controls and accreditation efforts (IATT-C/ATO).
• Support container orchestration, microservices, IaC, and automated provisioning in AWS.
• Contribute cloud-architecture content to EA artifacts and diagrams.
• Other duties as assigned.

Ensures the architecture and design of cloud-hosted IT systems are secure and meet Department requirements; reviews cloud security policy and provides recommendations for improvement to enhance the security posture within the cloud as well as the ability to meet protection, detection, monitoring and response requirements for systems and data; applies knowledge of current advances in cloud security engineering and cloud security threats to support the deployment of programs and applications; provides input to programs throughout the process of deployment to ensure systems meet Department compliance requirements; and provides guidance to assessment staff in the performance of Cybersecurity Vulnerability Assessments as related to cloud hosting environments. Resume must demonstrate experience working legacy system upgrades, modernization, legacy system transition, data migration and/or system analysis and design. Priority given to personnel with demonstrated experience performing functional and technical solutions decomposition that enables solutions analysis and design and demonstrated experience implementing solutions with respect to modern database design and modern software languages within the federal Government, specifically within the DoD.
