Job summary

BSNC invites applications for a Cloud Engineer to design and oversee cloud architectures, promote DevOps, and ensure secure, scalable cloud environments. The role emphasizes advisory support to leadership and engineers, with a focus on governance and modern cloud delivery models.

Remote work is offered with stringent security requirements including potential SECRET clearance. Candidates should have strong multi-cloud experience and hands-on IaaS/PaaS skills, in a US citizen profile.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or seven years of equivalent experience.
• Seven years of experience in cloud computing across compute, storage, platforms, data and security.
• Experience implementing large-scale cloud environments.
• US Citizen and ability to obtain SECRET clearance.
• Experience with IaaS and PaaS.
• Hands-on cloud services architecture and implementations.

Arcticom LLC provides network and systems administration, enterprise architecture and resource planning, certification and accreditation, software design, programming, maintenance of telecommunications and land mobile radio equipment and systems, help desk support and IT transformation services among other services.

About this position: Cloud Engineer Location – Remote

• Develop architecture for Cloud environments.
• Promote DevOps engineering principles throughout the portfolio.
• Assess cloud architecture for scalability, security, resilience, and mission alignment.
• Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative technical solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems, driving data- driven decisions.
• Evaluate the analytics from the cloud environment to make recommendations for improvements and optimization.
• Provide technical advisory to leadership, engineers, and cybersecurity SMEs.
• Ensure cloud solutions are secure, interoperable, and compliant with engineering, cybersecurity, and program requirements.
• Build out solutions that monitor performance and deliver capabilities such as data interfaces, generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and workflows.
• Use of systems engineering practices such as digital twin, modeling, and simulation to improve the systems of systems technology stack.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

• Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or seven years of equivalent experience
• Seven years of experience in all aspects of cloud computing (compute, storage, platforms, data, and security).
• Proven track record in implementing large-scale cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience in cloud computing-based services architecture, technical design, and implementations, including IaaS and PaaS.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must have or be able to attain a SECRET security clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

• Deep knowledge of AWS, Azure, Oracle, or Google Cloud, with experience in large-scale deployments.
• Strong knowledge of Cloud cost optimization techniques.
• Experience in one or more automation languages (CLI, Python, Ruby, PowerShell).
• Strong knowledge of Direct Connect, Private Link, VPN and other Public Cloud connectivity solutions.
• Thorough understanding of infrastructure automation, CI/CD, networking, storage, and cloud-based delivery models.
• Strong knowledge in networking and web standards such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, HTTP, web security & firewalls.
• Highly experienced in autoscaling, load balancing and DR cloud computing models.
• Experience in SSO/Federation.
• Working knowledge of configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet & Ansible).
• Thorough understanding of Cloud native, vendor agnostic & cloud ready app development.
• Thorough understanding of Cloud Governance.
• Strong working knowledge in cloud monitoring tools, application performance monitoring tools and operational dashboarding.

Preferred

• Active SECRET security clearance.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.

Additional Qualifying Factors
