Job summary

Everforth ECS seeks a Cloud Email Engineer, Lead to manage a hybrid Exchange environment spanning Exchange Online and On-Premises. You will lead incident response, ensure secure mail flow, and drive ongoing security and compliance improvements across cloud and local infrastructure.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize email delivery, implement DR procedures, and maintain system documentation in a federal civilian agency setting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange administration.
• Proven expertise in Exchange Online and Exchange On-Premises environments.
• Strong experience managing hybrid Exchange deployments.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operations and maintenance (O&M) support for Exchange Online and Exchange On-Premises environments.
• Ensure high availability, optimal performance, and reliable mail flow across all email platforms.
• Monitor system health, audit logs, and security alerts to proactively identify and resolve issues affecting email delivery and security operations.
• Manage and maintain hybrid email environments, including Exchange Online and Exchange on-premises servers.
• Oversee email routing configurations and mailbox storage across cloud and on-premises platforms.
• Coordinate integration between Exchange systems, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure AD).
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for email disruptions, outages, and service degradation.
• Perform rapid incident response and service restoration to minimize business impact.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Implement and maintain security controls to protect email infrastructure and data.
• Apply updates, patches, and configuration changes in accordance with security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Maintain Exchange service integrity through regular security assessments and remediation.
• Support backup, recovery, and business continuity planning for email services.
• Develop and test disaster recovery procedures for both cloud and on-premises platforms.
• Document recovery processes and maintain up-to-date system documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Support & System Management
