Job summary

IBM Infrastructure seeks a Software Developer Intern to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-class software powering hybrid cloud, storage, data protection, and systems management products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, reliable solutions.

You will participate in the full software development lifecycle, build REST APIs and microservices, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and stay current with emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in programming with Java, Python, Go, C++, JavaScript or similar.
• Understanding of object-oriented design and data structures.
• Experience developing REST APIs, microservices or distributed systems.
• Knowledge of Git and Linux/Unix environments.
• Familiarity with cloud concepts, containers, and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Collaborate with product management, architects, QA, and operations teams.
• Develop scalable, secure applications, services, and backend components.
• Troubleshoot defects, performance bottlenecks, and customer-reported issues.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and code reviews.
• Create and maintain technical docs, test plans, and procedures.
• Implement automated testing and DevOps practices to improve quality and delivery.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and suggest improvements.
• Support agile processes and participate in sprints, stand-ups, and backlog refinement.
