Job summary

Xyant Technology, Inc. in Fort Worth, TX seeks an experienced Cloud/DevOps engineer for a 3-month contract to architect, deploy, and operate cloud platforms across Azure, on-prem, and hybrid environments.

You will configure Kubernetes, container deployments, and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab/GitHub, while ensuring high availability and scalable infrastructure. The role requires strong scripting (Python/PowerShell) and experience with Chef/Puppet for configuration management, plus collaboration

Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall IT experience.
• 5–6 years of Azure and Kubernetes/K8s experience.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong Kubernetes/K8s expertise: cluster config, HA and failover.
• Docker experience and containerized deployments.
• CI/CD and DevOps tooling, preferably GitLab/GitHub.
• Scripting with Python and/or PowerShell.
• Infrastructure automation with Chef and/or Puppet.
• Logging/monitoring, Docker registries, and prod support.
• Understanding of load balancing, scalability, and provisioning.

Responsibilities

• Integrate containerized apps with DevOps/CI/CD tools (GitLab/GitHub).
• Support CaaS environments and onboard apps understanding interfaces, load balancing, DB and infra needs.
• Configure Kubernetes for HA, failover, scalability, and zero-downtime production workloads.
• Develop automation and infrastructure provisioning with Python, PowerShell, Chef, Puppet, and related tech.
• Work with logging, monitoring, and container registries to maintain production reliability.
• Develop POCs, prototypes, reference architectures/models, cloud solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define infra requirements and secure scalable solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, build, configure, test, and support cloud platforms, solutions, and integrations across Microsoft Azure, on-premises cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Configure and maintain Kubernetes clusters and develop deployment scripts for Docker containers.
• Integrate containerized applications with DevOps and CI/CD tools, including GitLab/GitHub.
• Support Container-as-a-Service (CaaS) environments and onboard applications by understanding interfaces, load balancing, database, and infrastructure requirements.
• Configure Kubernetes environments to support high availability, failover, scalability, and zero-downtime production workloads.
• Develop automation and infrastructure provisioning solutions using Python, PowerShell, Chef, Puppet, and related technologies.
• Work with logging, monitoring, and container registry tools to maintain reliable production environments.
• Develop prototypes, proof of concepts (POCs), and reference models for cloud and infrastructure solutions.
• Perform capacity management and provide proactive recommendations for infrastructure expansion and optimization.

Work with end users, IT teams, Security, and other stakeholders to define infrastructure requirements and implement secure, scalable solutions.

Support cloud/platform upgrades and troubleshoot production issues in collaboration with managed service providers.

Assist with project planning, schedules, progress tracking, status reporting, risks, and issue management.

Collaborate with business partners and regional IT teams to develop scalable and robust cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ Years experience required from overall IT.
• 5 to 6 years relevant experience required from Azure and Kubernetes/K8s
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes/K8s, including cluster configuration, administration, high availability, and failover.
• Strong experience with Docker and containerized application deployments.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools, preferably GitLab/GitHub.
• Strong scripting/automation experience using Python and/or PowerShell.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Chef and/or Puppet.
• Experience with logging, monitoring, Docker/container registries, and production support.
• Understanding of load balancing, databases, inbound/outbound interfaces, scalability, and infrastructure provisioning.
• Experience developing POCs, prototypes, reference architectures/models, or cloud solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and continuously learn and apply new cloud technologies.
