Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to support mission-critical cloud platforms and services across AWS, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and modern web technologies. You will engineer, automate, and maintain secure, scalable environments while integrating quickly into current workflows.

The role is onsite in San Diego, CA and requires US citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance to start and potential TS/SCI after start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity with 9+ years of experience.
• U.S. Citizen with Active Secret Clearance to start and ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• AWS experience with EC2, IAM, VPC, storage, automation tooling; Kubernetes/OpenShift experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure including EC2, VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, and storage services.
• Develop and manage IaC using CloudFormation, YAML/JSON templates, and version-controlled automation pipelines.
• Operate Kubernetes/OpenShift, service mesh components, and container lifecycle management.
• Support web stacks (HTML/CSS/JS, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL).
• Implement authentication/SSO (OIDC, SAML, LDAP/AD).
• Manage Linux/Windows servers: patching, hardening, configuration automation.
• Configure networking: routing, firewalls, NACLs, VPC peering, transit gateways.
• Automate tasks with Bash, Python, PowerShell, AWS CLI, CloudFormation.
• Monitor/troubleshoot with CloudWatch, logs, tracing; support cyber hygiene (STIGs, ACAS).
• Occasionally collaborate with cyber, networking, and development teams on NOA.
