Job summary

Alquemy is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer for a contract position in Vancouver, BC. You will provision and manage cloud infrastructure, deploy applications on Kubernetes, and build reliable CI/CD pipelines for fast, safe releases.

You will work with Terraform, Helm, Argo CD, and cloud services across AKS/EKS/GKE, monitor health, troubleshoot, and collaborate with developers and data engineers to support deployments and data workloads while applying security best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or cloud operations.
• Hands-on with AKS/EKS/GKE or self-managed Kubernetes.
• Strong Linux administration and network troubleshooting skills.
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting apps on Kubernetes.
• Hands-on with Terraform and Helm; reusable configurations.

Cloud DevOps Engineer

Employment Type: Contract Location: Vancouver, BC

Responsibilities

• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform, including compute, networking, storage, and related services.
• Deploy and maintain applications on Kubernetes using Helm and GitOps tools such as Argo CD.
• Create and maintain Kubernetes manifests, Helm charts, and environment-specific configurations.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes deployments, application issues, connectivity, and resource-related problems.
• Build and maintain container images and manage container registries.
• Develop and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines for application deployments.
• Monitor infrastructure and application health, investigate alerts, and resolve operational issues.
• Collaborate with developers and data engineers to support application releases and data workloads.
• Apply security best practices for access, secrets, and infrastructure changes.
• Maintain operational documentation and runbooks.

Qualifications

• Experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or cloud operations.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), EKS, GKE, or self-managed Kubernetes.
• Strong experience deploying and troubleshooting applications on Kubernetes.
• Experience with Helm and Terraform, including reusable configurations and infrastructure changes.
• Hands-on experience with Azure compute, networking, storage, access, and monitoring.
• Strong Linux administration and network troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions.
• Ability to analyze logs, metrics, and events to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting data platforms, data pipelines, or data processing workloads.
• Experience with AI/ML pipelines.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Kubernetes monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
