Required Skills:
  1. Advanced knowledge of DevOps: Git-based source control, software tools and builds, artifact storage, CI/CD pipelines, static and dynamic code scanning tools, runtime environments, and deployments.
  2. Extensive familiarity with Azure and experience with other cloud providers like AWS or Google Cloud, including IaaS and PaaS offerings.
  3. Ability to translate high-level business requirements into project scopes, designing, documenting, and implementing cloud and DevOps solutions accordingly.
  4. Excellent communication skills, comfortable interacting with customers, engineers, sales, and executives.
  5. Understanding of cloud-native event-driven architectures.
  6. Proficiency in creating clear documentation for internal and customer use.
  7. Quick learner of complex technologies, with the ability to evaluate and recommend solutions.
  8. Experience in creating and presenting architectural diagrams.
  9. Knowledge of Agile methodologies, Scrum, and working in distributed teams.
  10. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python.
  11. Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  12. Familiarity with IaC tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, or Bicep.
  13. Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning.
  14. Experience applying security patches and baselines to cloud systems.
Activities:
  1. Manage and automate Azure and Office365 cloud tools, including SaaS platforms and lab environments, using Infrastructure as Code.
  2. Perform system administration tasks for Azure, including monitoring, patching, user management, and security.
  3. Access Azure environments via command line and SSH for management tasks.
  4. Design and develop solutions for DevOps monitoring, networking, and security.
  5. Maintain and enhance DevOps pipelines and troubleshoot issues.
  6. Administer logging and monitoring systems, including dashboards and alerts.
  7. Improve installation, configuration, and deployment processes for efficiency and repeatability.
  8. Support cybersecurity initiatives by implementing architecture components, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance.
  9. Collaborate with development teams on product updates and feature deployment.
  10. Review cloud costs regularly and recommend cost-saving measures.
  11. Work with data teams on analytics architecture.
  12. Manage cloud backups, retention, and disaster recovery tools.
  13. Develop and troubleshoot Dockerfiles, deploy containers, and assist with patching.
  14. Encourage innovation, creativity, and professional growth.
Education/Training, Qualifications, and Certification:
  1. Minimum of seven years experience as a Cloud, DevOps, or Systems Engineer, or a Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of experience.
  2. Desired certifications include Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, DevOps engineering, and project management (Scrum).
  3. Must be a US Citizen capable of passing background and drug tests.
  4. If remote, willingness to travel to Knoxville, TN, up to six times per year.
