Job summary

SMX is seeking a Cloud Developer (Mid) to design and implement cloud-based data and financial reporting solutions in AWS. You will own mission-critical cloud workloads, automate provisioning with Terraform/Ansible, and support secure migrations and CI/CD pipelines.

You will work on security-forward, on-site projects in Washington, DC, and require an active TS clearance. Strong scripting and DevSecOps capabilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance required.
• Experience with core AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM and RDS (Aurora PostgreSQL).
• Proficient in IaC tools (Terraform/Ansible) and scripting in Python or Node.js.
• Proven DevSecOps experience building CI/CD pipelines in GitLab or similar.
• Ability to debug complex cloud stacks and resolve incidents within SLAs.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.

Responsibilities

• Architect Cloud Delivery Models for Data Warehouse and Financial Reporting.
• Operationalize IaC using Terraform and Ansible to provision and maintain AWS resources.
• Lead migration of legacy data to secure AWS enclaves and refactor workloads.
• Engineer DevSecOps pipelines with GitLab to integrate security gates and tests.
• Optimize cloud performance and cost while targeting 99.9% uptime.
• Enforce security hardening (STIG) for EC2 instances and containers before release.
• Collaborate across Agile teams to solve complex debugging challenges across the cloud stack.
