Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in GA is hiring for a technical role in Lithia Springs and surrounding locations. You will act as the technical point of contact, drive process improvements, and verify hardware quality across server racks and networking devices.

You’ll help launch new capacity and support deployment activities with a cross-functional team. The role requires networking experience, Linux familiarity, and the ability to handle rigors of data center work, with strong project-management

Qualifications

• 1+ years of computer networking experience
• 2+ years of Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, Data Center Operations, or Technical Project Management experience
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience in computer networking
• Experience working with Linux operating systems
• Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
• Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines
• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
• Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
• Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of project management experience
• Experience in large scale data center network implementations and support
• Experience working in virtualized enterprise networking environments
• Experience working with IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, LEAN, AGILE)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical point of contact for internal teams.
• Perform Process Improvement. Gather data on common failures or waste and work with supporting teams to get them resolved / minimized / eliminated
• Perform rigorous hardware verification inspections to insure quality on server racks, networking devices, and associated components.
• Launch new network capacity
• May be required to assist Deployment Technicians with rack deployments on heavy deployment days or Cabling team
• Coordinate design, project timeline/ schedule and construction works.
