Job summary

Google is seeking a data scientist to drive forecasting and capacity planning for Cloud's compute, storage, and ML products. You will develop scalable models, forecast demand, and enable efficient use of infrastructure while aligning with business goals.

As part of the CCDS team, you will deploy advanced ML models and OR-based algorithms, working with engineers, PMs, and data scientists to deliver high-quality solutions at scale.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative field.
• 3 years of work experience in analytics, coding, and data querying.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve forecasting models and capacity planning solutions to support Cloud's business objectives.
• Make efficient use of Cloud's infrastructure, while achieving service level objectives for Cloud's customers.
• Make larger, mostly independent, technical contributions by completing end-to-end tasks with minimal assistance.
• Generate methodologies to solve ambiguous problems and own the solution, including launches and cross-functional work.
• Communicate with engineers and subject matter experts to integrate with a cross-disciplinary team and apply data science methods.
