Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Database Specialist Solutions Architect to design complete solutions based on AWS database services.

You will engage with customers from engineers to executives, develop proof-of-concept projects, and support migrations from on-premise databases to AWS managed services. You will lead architectural reviews, deliver workshops, and craft reference architectures while staying ahead of trends in database, analytics, and GenAI technologies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in technology domains (e.g. software development, cloud, systems engineering)
• 3+ years design/implementation/consulting in applications and infrastructure
• 10+ years IT development/consulting in software/internet industries
• Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including execs
• Deep knowledge of at least one open source relational DB or non-relational DB (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, Couchbase, Neptune, Neo4j)

Responsibilities

• Provide deep technical expertise and strategic guidance on AWS Database Services
• Collaborate with specialist sales, marketing, and product teams to create solutions
• Serve as trusted advisor to executives navigating cloud transformation
• Lead architectural reviews and workshops for common use cases and migrations
• Design and architect complex database solutions using relational or non-relational tech
• Create technical thought leadership content and reference architectures
• Present at industry events like AWS re:Invent and AWS Summit
• Educate customers on AWS data management value and production-ready solutions
• Provide feedback to AWS product teams on customer requirements
• Stay current with trends in Database, Analytics, and GenAI technologies
• Travel ~25% within the US for engagements
