Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a mid-level Cloud Database Engineer to support modern database platforms across cloud and enterprise environments. You will design, deploy, automate, and operate PostgreSQL-based solutions using AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD practices in production environments.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, expertise with OpenShift/Kubernetes, CockroachDB or Cassandra, Linux/Unix, and Python, with a global engineering team. Weekend on-call work may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Cloud Database Engineer or Database Platform Engineer experience.
• AWS Cloud Engineering and Platform Operations.
• PostgreSQL Database Administration and Engineering.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• CI/CD and DevOps Automation (Jenkins, Bitbucket, JFrog, Ansible).
• Linux/Unix Administration.
• Python and Shell Scripting.
• Production Support and Operational Excellence.
• Kubernetes / OpenShift Platform Experience.
• Distributed Database Technologies (Cockroach DB, Cassandra, Redis, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, automate, and support highly available database platforms across cloud and enterprise environments.
• The role involves production operations and collaboration within a global engineering team.
• Participation in planned maintenance activities and on-call weekend work as needed.
