Job summary

The University of Michigan Data Office for Clinical and Translational Research (DOCTR) and the Research Data Warehouse (ROW) seek a Senior Technical Lead to guide a team of Data Engineers through migrating the enterprise data warehouse to cloud. You will partner with DOCTR, MPOG and HITS to align strategic initiatives and ensure scalable, secure data solutions for research.

Ideal candidates will have 10+ years in programming and data engineering, strong leadership, and expertise with SQL

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of programming and data engineering experience.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and with MongoDB is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic technical direction for the medical school's research data infrastructure.
• Manage and mentor a team of Data Engineers across projects.
• Oversee migration of enterprise data warehouse from on premises to cloud.
• Coordinate with DOCTR, MPOG, and HITS to align initiatives.
• Ensure robust data governance, testing, and documentation.
