Venable LLP in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to provide advanced technical, governance, and program support for the Firm's enterprise data management function, with a focus on cloud-based and SaaS platforms.

The role partners with IT, Security, Records, Legal, Compliance, and business teams to mature data governance programs, manage Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Purview, and implement retention and data protection policies while

Qualifications

• Minimum four years in enterprise data management, information governance, or related IT roles.
• Experience supporting cloud and SaaS data platforms, with strong 365 services exposure.
• Experience with data governance, retention, eDiscovery, and compliance practices.
• Ability to communicate across IT and business stakeholders and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maturing the Firm's enterprise data management program across IT, Security, Records, Legal, Compliance, and business teams.
• Support governance and oversight of Microsoft 365 and SaaS platforms (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, OneNote, Purview, Entra, Varonis).
• Assist with retention, labeling, classification, DLP, eDiscovery, and legal hold policies across cloud/SaaS platforms.
• Support data retention, archival, recovery, destruction, defensible deletion, and data disposition processes.
