Job summary

Bank of America seeks a Principal Cloud Data Architect to lead the Channels Data Platform modernization from on-prem to cloud-native architectures using Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, and Kafka. You will define the multi-year roadmap, ensure security and performance, and mentor teams across Data, Platform, and Technology domains.

You will drive CI/CD, IaC, observability, and cost governance while guiding large-scale data and analytics ecosystems, including real-time insights for Payment Tracker

Qualifications

• 12+ years in data/software engineering with 8+ years designing enterprise data platforms or large distributed architectures.
• Cloud modernization experience (Azure preferred) including Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka/Event Hubs.
• Strong background modernizing legacy systems (Informatica ETL, Hadoop, mainframe).

Responsibilities

• Develops the engineering approach for the program/portfolio and defines technical enablers.
• Leads design of complex features spanning multiple teams and solution options.
• Provides technical oversight, reviews designs and code within own domain.
• Defines the technology tool stack within approved technologies.
• Explores state-of-the-art tech to improve development efficiency and QA.
• Leads end-to-end test strategy and integration between teams.
• Ensures alignment with risk, security, and regulatory expectations.
