Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Principal Cloud Data Architect to lead the modernization of the Channels Data Platform. You will drive target architecture, cloud-native design, and governance across data and analytics workloads, including mainframe and batch systems.

The role requires steering multi-year roadmaps, ensuring security, resiliency, and regulatory compliance while aligning with risk, governance, and enterprise architecture. Strong communication with executives is essential.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in data/software engineering.
• 8+ years designing enterprise data platforms or large distributed architectures.
• Cloud modernization with Azure preferred; Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka/Event Hubs.
• Strong SQL and Python skills; Scala/Java a plus.
• Experience with microservices, containers, API gateways, and integration patterns.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and work in regulated environments.

Responsibilities
