Job summary

Bank of America seeks a Principal Cloud Data Architect to lead the architectural authority for Channels Data Platforms and Analytics. You will define target state architecture, drive cloud modernization from legacy systems to cloud-native platforms, and ensure security, resiliency, and compliance across data and analytics ecosystems.

You will guide the transformation of large engineering teams and platforms toward Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka, APIs/microservices, and modern patterns,

Qualifications

• 12+ years in data/software engineering with enterprise data platform experience.
• Proven leadership in cloud modernization (Azure preferred) with Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka.
• Strong background modernizing Informatica ETL, Hadoop, and mainframe workloads.
• Deep expertise in resiliency, security, performance, and observability.
• SQL and Python proficiency; Java/Scala a plus; articulate with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develops the engineering approach for the program/portfolio solution with Architecture.
• Leads planning and design of complex features spanning multiple teams.
• Creates architecture alternatives and guides solution delivery.
• Oversees end-to-end technical design reviews and code within own domain.
• Defines the technology tool stack and allocates approved technologies.
• Explores new technologies to improve development efficiency and QA coverage.
• Leads end-to-end test strategy and aligns integration across teams.
