The Cloud Data Architect provides technical leadership in cloud computing and automation, focusing on designing systems and services on cloud platforms. Reporting to the Cloud Engineering Department, this role supports data product delivery teams by sharing best practices and ensuring high availability of critical applications. A key responsibility is supporting the enterprise cloud data warehouse on Snowflake.

Major Responsibilities

1. Define and develop enterprise data architecture concepts and standards using leading practices and Snowflake capabilities.
2. Implement and promote adoption of cloud-based analytical platforms.
3. Manage scope, requirements analysis, design, build, configuration, testing, and deployment.
4. Utilize formal project management methodologies including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
5. Translate business strategies into technical requirements compatible with current architecture.
6. Provide technical leadership to development teams, ensuring best practices.
7. Support executive vision for cloud adoption and governance.
8. Develop architectural blueprints and roadmaps for the data platform.
9. Support data product teams in delivering analytical solutions.
10. Implement monitoring, alerts, and dashboards for data freshness and platform use.
11. Provide technical governance for cloud architecture, deployment, and operations.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Typically 7+ years in IT disciplines like architecture, development, or database management, including 5+ years with cloud platforms and data modeling.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Effective communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with healthcare data is a plus.
• Knowledge of DevOps and cloud system engineering principles.
• Experience with Data Governance, SaaS tools like Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, dbt Cloud, etc.
• End-to-end implementation of cloud data warehouses.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL preferred.
• Understanding of security and compliance in cloud services.
• Familiarity with BI tools for reporting and dashboards.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Operate necessary equipment.
• Work in a normal office environment.
