Job summary

FinOps Weekly is seeking a Cloud Cost Governance Lead to own and optimize cloud spending across Azure, AWS, and GCP in a fully remote, senior capacity. You will mentor teams and drive accountability for cost governance, with a focus on data-driven insights and scalable cost reporting.

In this role, you will coordinate with engineering, finance, and cloud providers to implement forecasting, budgeting, and spend governance, delivering impact across global workloads.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in cloud or infrastructure environments with strong exposure to FinOps or cloud cost governance.
  • At least 5+ years of hands-on Azure cost management at scale, including multi-tenant environments and reservation management.
  • 3+ years of AWS cost governance experience using Cost Explorer, CUR, Organizations, Budgets, anomaly detection, and Savings Plans or RI.
  • GCP billing experience including BigQuery exports, budgeting, and committed-use discount management.
  • Strong experience building and maintaining cost reporting pipelines and dashboards using Power BI, SQL, or BigQuery.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end cloud cost visibility across Azure, AWS, and GCP, ensuring a single source of truth for all cloud spending and classifications.
  • Monitor daily cost activity and anomalies using native cloud tools, implementing alerts across tenants, accounts, and workloads.
  • Lead root cause analysis of cost incidents, partnering with engineering, finance, and cloud providers to resolve issues and quantify impact.
  • Ensure alignment between provisioning systems and actual billing data, closing gaps between platform actions and cloud charges.
  • Build and maintain robust cost data pipelines and reporting systems using tools such as Power BI, SQL, BigQuery, and cloud billing exports.
  • Identify and drive refund or credit recovery opportunities with cloud providers.
  • Lead forecasting, budgeting, and optimization initiatives including rightsizing, commitment-based savings, and spend governance.

Our partner is looking for a Cloud Cost Governance Lead – Multi-Cloud FinOps based in United States. You will take full ownership of cloud financial operations across a complex multi-cloud environment, ensuring complete visibility, control, and optimization of all cloud spending. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, finance, and cloud architecture, acting as the single authority on cost governance decisions. You will drive accountability across Azure, AWS, and GCP environments, translating raw billing data into actionable financial insights. The position requires strong analytical depth and hands-on experience managing large-scale cloud billing ecosystems. You will be responsible for identifying inefficiencies, anomalies, and optimization opportunities across global cloud workloads. Working closely with technical and business stakeholders, you will influence cost-aware engineering decisions and financial discipline. At least 5+ years of hands-on Azure cost management at scale, including experience with multi-tenant environments, CSP/EA/MCA models, Partner Center, and reservation management. 3+ years of AWS cost governance experience using Cost Explorer, CUR, Organizations, Budgets, anomaly detection, and Savings Plans or Reserved Instances. Working proficiency in GCP billing, including BigQuery exports, budgeting, and committed-use discount management. Strong experience building and maintaining cost reporting pipelines and dashboards using Power BI, SQL, or BigQuery. Deep analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex billing data and communicate insights clearly to technical and business stakeholders. Strong sense of ownership and ability to operate in a fully hands-on, data-driven environment.
