Job summary

Oracle in Nashville is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team within the OCI Compute Control Plane group, driving architecture, delivery, and operational excellence for metering and power management initiatives.

You will partner with leadership to set roadmaps, mentor engineers, and deliver scalable, automated solutions in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated leadership and cloud experience are required for this role.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of engineering experience, including 0-2 years as a people manager.
• Strong hands-on technical background with cloud technologies and infrastructure automation.
• Proven ability to execute on strategic and operational roadmaps for technical organizations.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication; able to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees or PM certifications preferred.
• Demonstrated drive to build and lead world-class engineering teams and foster excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing engineering organization, ensuring professional growth of engineers.
• Oversee software architecture, development, debugging, and enhancement activities, guiding delivery of resilient, automated, scalable solutions; set measurable goals and accountability.
• Contribute to the technology roadmap and operational strategies for compute metering and power management.
• Build and maintain operational support structures including on-call rotations; lead incidents to resolution and post-mortems.
• Communicate project outcomes to leadership and stakeholders to ensure alignment.
• Hire and develop talent, promote continuous learning, and foster a culture of excellence.
