Job summary

Oracle seeks a Senior Manager, Core Infrastructure Engineering to lead the OCI Performance team and shape the strategy for high-scale cloud services. You will manage a distributed engineering organization, set KPIs, balance feature delivery with reliability, and drive security-focused improvements.

You will interface with engineers and executives, guide architecture reviews, and mentor teams to achieve high availability and performance across OCI services.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years at a senior management level.
• 5 years of distributed systems or cloud services experience.
• BS, MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar degree.
• Strong business and communication skills.
• Exceptional leadership and people management skills.
• Experience with performance benchmarking and optimization tools/services.
• Solid understanding of core cloud infrastructure (compute, virtual networking, storage).
• Strong distributed systems architecture and design skills.

Responsibilities

• Define technical, product, operational and organizational strategy for a public cloud service.
• Lead a diverse, distributed team.
• Instill and continuously improve a culture of accountability, integrity, and high professional bar.
• Communicate effectively with engineers to executive management.
• Stay abreast of known vulnerabilities and mitigate early.
• Guide and mentor teams through architecture and security reviews.
• Drive implementation and verification of security features to enhance platform security.
• Establish methodologies to drive continuous improvement in the engineering org via mentoring and coaching.
