Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to own CDN deployment and operation using Akamai and/or Cloudflare. You will design, build, and run production services, driving system design decisions and elevating engineering standards within the Network Services team.

You will mentor engineers, review code, and lead automation initiatives with IaC/GitOps, AI-assisted workflows, and secure SDLC practices to deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure for critical financial services.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with ownership of production systems.
• Strong system design skills across distributed services, data stores, and messaging systems (e.g., RabbitMQ).
• Practical experience running services in the cloud, including AWS patterns and services.
• Solid understanding of secure software development lifecycle practices, CI/CD, and operational excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through code reviews, technical decision-making, and mentoring within a team.
• Experience leading AI-assisted software development tools with validated outputs and secure practices.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows with data sensitivity considerations.

Responsibilities

• Share expertise in designing and managing CDN applications leveraging Cloudflare and/or Akamai.
• Develop IaC/GitOps-based automation.
• Apply AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate delivery with discipline.
• Automate network services infrastructure and provisioning workflows (APIs and React components).
• Lead system design efforts and produce architecture artifacts for high-quality decisions.
• Review code, coach engineers, and raise standards across testing, CI/CD, security, and reliability.
• Build and maintain delivery pipelines with automated tests, coverage, and gates.
• Partner with internal teams and evaluate external vendors when beneficial.
• Contribute to an inclusive culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Drive enterprise AI practices with secure validation and pattern reuse.
