Job summary

SimpliSafe’s Device Cloud Services team is on a mission to level up the cloud-based systems that empower customers to interact with their home security systems from anywhere in the world. We’re looking for a motivated Software Engineer II to design, develop, maintain and own software solutions.

We’re a backend team solving large-scale distributed problems, ensuring customers have real‑time control and visibility into their security systems; reliability, simplicity, and performance are our key

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing features in cloud-based backend systems.
• Strong understanding of the SOLID principles.
• Passion, curiosity and a desire to continuously learn and grow.
• Experience using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with the Agile Scrum process.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain and own software solutions.
• Build and maintain backend systems that scale for a growing customer base.
• Develop and maintain tests to ensure reliability and maintainability.
• Long‑term support including performance optimization, bug fixes, and feature additions.
• Document systems to enable future developers to work effectively.
• Serve in an on‑call rotation as a first responder for software owned by your team.
