Job description

Seeking a Hybrid Cloud Automation Engineer for a large enterprise client in the regulated consumer products industry. This role will focus on designing, building, and maintaining automation solutions across Azure and VMware hybrid environments. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on engineer with deep experience in Infrastructure as Code, cloud automation, and production support who thrives in complex enterprise environments. This individual will play a key role in enabling scalable, secure, and compliant cloud infrastructure while driving operational efficiency through automation

Day-to-Day

• Design and implement automation frameworks across Azure and VMware environments
• Build reusable IaC modules, Terraform code, and Ansible playbooks
• Automate deployment of Azure resources including VMs, networks, AKS, App Services, and PaaS
• Perform day-to-day Azure operational support including monitoring, patching, backups, and DR
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents impacting cloud workloads
• Manage Azure subscription hygiene, tagging, and cost optimization
• Automate VMware VM provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments
• Implement policy-as-code and security baselines
• Maintain architecture documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
• Partner with Security and Architecture teams to ensure compliance and resilience

Qualifying Skills/Experience

• 9+ years of infrastructure, cloud, or automation engineering experience
• Strong hands‑on experience with Azure cloud engineering
• Experience with VMware private cloud environments
• Strong scripting experience with PowerShell and/or Python
• Experience building IaC and reusable automation modules
• Knowledge of Azure networking, compute, storage, and PaaS services
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions)
• Experience supporting SOX / SOC2 compliance and audit requirements

Compensation range: $70-85/hr
