Job summary

Everforth ECS seeks a Cloud Automation Engineer to deploy and support Azure and AWS environments for DoD coalition enclaves. This role focuses on automation, infrastructure as code, and improving deployment pipelines in a hybrid Fairfax, VA setting.

You will collaborate with engineering and security teams to deliver repeatable patterns, manage CI/CD, IAM, and networking, and support data platforms and AI workloads. DoD clearance and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must have Active DoD Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related work experience.
• Ability to obtain a DoD 8140 IAT Level II Security+ (or higher) within 60 days of hire.
• Hybrid work capacity in Fairfax, VA (in-office up to 3 days).
• Travel <20% to CONUS/OCONUS sites throughout the program.
• 5+ years in cloud engineering, DevOps or similar roles.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure in production.
• Strong experience writing and maintaining Terraform code.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins).
• Monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting operational aspects.
• Proficiency with Git and version-controlled workflows.
• Solid understanding of VPCs, subnets, routing, and security groups.
• Understanding of security fundamentals including SSO, RBAC, encryption.
• Scripting with Python or Bash.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making; effective communication with stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Refactor and improve existing infrastructure and pipelines.
• Document solutions and patterns for reuse across teams.
• Support infrastructure for data platforms and analytics integration.
• Enable environments supporting AI/ML workloads.

Everforth ECS is seeking a Cloud Automation Engineer to deploy and support Azure cloud environments for multiple coalition Mission Partner Network enclaves in support of the DoW community. This role is hands-on and focused on automation, including writing infrastructure code, improving deployment pipelines, and helping teams operate more efficiently in the cloud.

The position works closely with engineering and security teams to deliver consistent, repeatable infrastructure and deployment patterns. The focus is on doing the work, solving problems, and improving how cloud environments are built and maintained over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure
• Write and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including reusable modules
• Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Jenkins
• Implement and support Git-based deployment workflows
• Automate provisioning of cloud resources, including networking, compute, and storage
• Support identity and access management, including SSO, roles, and permissions
• Troubleshoot issues across environments and assist teams during deployments
• Refactor and improve existing infrastructure and pipelines where needed
• Document solutions and patterns for reuse across teams
• Support infrastructure for data platforms, including storage, data pipelines, and integration with analytics tools
• Help enable environments that support AI or machine learning workloads where needed
• Other duties, as assigned.

General Description Of Benefits

Salary Range: $170,000-200,000

Please note, Salary is commensurate with skillset, qualifications, experience, and educational background.

Required Skills

• U.S. Citizen.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate solution.
• Highly developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively and professionally interact with a diverse set of stakeholders (from peers to end-users to executive management).

Desired Skills

• Experience with GitOps style workflows.
• Exposure to:
  • Kubernetes or container-based platforms.
  • AI or machine learning environments or supporting infrastructure.
• Familiarity with cloud security tools and compliance frameworks.
• Experience:
  • Supporting data platforms or data engineering workflows.
  • Working in government or regulated environments.
