Job summary

United Global Technologies, Inc. (UGT) is expanding its cloud engineering team supporting a U.S. Department of Energy national laboratory.

We are hiring two Cloud Engineers to bring depth and rigor to the client’s AWS and Azure environments. These engineers will join an established, high‑performing UGT team already delivering cloud services to this client, working alongside laboratory staff on broad‑based cloud architecture, engineering, and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on infrastructure or cloud engineering experience.
• Terraform experience strongly preferred.
• Scripting/automation in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud architecture and reference designs for AWS and Azure.
• Guide workload placement across multi-cloud estate.
• Design, deploy, and operate secure, scalable cloud infrastructure.
• Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infra and apps.
• Implement cloud security and governance (IAM, network, encryption, logging).
• Document compliance controls (NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, DOE).
• Own cloud cost management and reporting.
• Collaborate with client staff to translate requirements into architecture.
