Our client is looking for an experienced Google Cloud Platform Architect to support a strategic programme focused on Autonomous Networks and Digital Energy Management.
The role will be responsible for shaping the end-to-end GCP architecture, ensuring that solutions developed within the Energy domain are aligned and integrated with the broader Autonomous Networks architecture and technology landscape.
Key responsibilities
- Design and own end-to-end solution architectures on GCP, covering cloud services, applications, data, APIs and integrations.
- Select appropriate GCP services and architectural patterns based on functional and non-functional requirements.
- Define how solutions integrate with existing enterprise and network platforms, including interfaces, data flows and dependencies.
- Ensure alignment between the Energy domain and the wider Autonomous Networks architecture, standards and roadmap.
- Work closely with engineering teams and other architects to translate architecture into implementable solutions and resolve technical design issues.
- Address security, scalability, resilience, performance and operational requirements as part of the solution design.
- Produce clear architecture documentation and communicate design decisions to both technical and business stakeholders.
Candidate profile
- Strong experience as a GCP Cloud Architect or Solution Architect in complex enterprise environments.
- Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, including cloud-native architecture, compute, networking, storage, data and integration services.
- Strong understanding of APIs, integration patterns, data flows and distributed architectures.
- Experience designing secure, scalable and resilient cloud solutions, ideally across hybrid or complex enterprise environments.
- Ability to operate at both high-level architecture and detailed solution design level and provide technical direction to engineering teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work across multiple architecture and delivery teams.
- Telecommunications/mobile network experience would be advantageous but is not required.
- Energy management or energy optimisation experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Exposure to Autonomous Networks or network automation would be an additional advantage.
